Moving states is definitely no easy feat, but I know we aren't the only ones to do so. Life in California is beautiful, but times change and as a family, we wanted what was best for us. Our hearts were always meant to be here in Texas. Rafael was stationed in Fort Hood, TX when he served in the Army. Even after 2 deployments to Iraq, he called here home. Suzie has several family members throughout the state of Texas as her father was born in Sinton. Her family would visit Sinton and also her other family in Brighton, CO and so she loved both states so much. As our children grew, so did our desire to have them in a wholesome, Christ loving city.
Events lined up just right for us to take the plunge to move across a few states. We settled in San Antonio for the weather (weirdly enough!). Suzie is very spoiled and enjoys the Cali weather, so San Antonio seemed like a fair comparison. The kids adapted very quickly to their new schools and love their new friends and activities. We love that everything here is so family and Christ centered, a vast difference from what we were raised in.
After Rafael worked in San Antonio for a year when we moved here, in the same field he has for 15 years prior, but he wanted to be able to set his own schedule. He wanted off on holidays with the kids, to enjoy more family time, and not work for someone else. He wanted to make sure quality parts are ordered, customers feel valued - not just another number, work was done properly and he can be honest.
He is exceptional at diagnostics. He can see what others usually can not. He takes his time with each vehicle, asks pertinent questions to a customer and wants them to understand what is wrong with the car, he will not just tell them. We all need to understand what we are driving and what is wrong, right? He is fantastic and making sure each customer understands and really goes that extra mile. He wants a lasting relationship with each car and driver.
On top of all of that, we love spending more time with our family. This is the reason why we came. We are able to spend school holidays together. We are able to have the children learn valuable life skills in automotive and business. We are teaching them great customer service skills and time management. Stop by and say hi to them if you see them! They love it.
