Did you catch the Total Eclipse (of the heart)?

So apparently living in the Hill Country has the best views of everything! We have deer on the regular, armadillo, wild pigs, foxes, turkeys, quail, lots of fun animals. Not just the beautiful scenery and gorgeous sunsets... but a perfect view of the total eclipse!

Was it everything you hoped for? We had complete clouds and our eclipse glasses did not work. However, as we looked outside, approximately 1:30 pm, the outside looked a little darker than it was all day. We all rushed outside (along with our entire neighborhood) and peeking through the thin clouds was the moon starting to cover the sun! As it turned to nighttime so quick, we all were amused with the fact that street lights came on, and it looked like it was 10pm in the middle of the afternoon! We had about 2 minutes and 34 seconds (per the news outlets) of "nighttime" and then it started lighting up again.

We were excited for the clouds, we weren't as disappointed as we thought. Due to the clouds, we were able to see the eclipse peeking through because the glasses DID NOT show us anything! It was like looking into a black piece of paper! Not even a little shone through.

Did you guys go anywhere? Did you see it? What did you think?
